Privacy, plainly.
What we keep
Your name, email address, an optional phone number and photo, the church you chose, your gifts, and the thank-you codes sent to you. That is what the app needs to show your wallet and your receipts.
Payments
Gifts are processed by Stripe. Card numbers and bank details are entered on Stripe's own form and are never stored by us. We keep only the amount, the date, the church, and a reference to the payment so your receipt is accurate.
What your church and the businesses see
Your church sees your giving. It does not see your contact details unless you share them, and you can give anonymously from Settings. A business sees only that a code was valid when it is redeemed. It never sees who gave, or how much.
We send receipts, expiring code reminders, and account emails. Everything except account and receipt email can be switched off in Settings, and every message carries an unsubscribe link.
Removing your information
Close your account from Settings and your profile, photo, and codes are deleted. Gift records are kept where tax and accounting rules require them, without your contact details attached. For anything else, write to privacy@cheerfulgiver.io.
